Situated in the farthest end of Kangundo Sub County, Manyatta Primary School is slowly but certainly making way to the top in.

Education News learnt that the school recorded the first 400 marks in 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, in essence making history of sorts.

The school was top public institution in Kangundo, and 24th in the entire Machakos County.

It had a mean score of 303.94 compared to 270 it registered last year.

The school head, Peter Muthoka, assured that the sterling performance will be the order of the day for the school as the foundation has already been laid.

“We won’t go back to where we were. We are now more focused and committed to attaining the highest mark possible. This school is registering students with 400 marks for the first time but this is only the beginning,” he said.

He noted that three students out of 42 got over four hundred marks with 24 scoring over 300 marks.

He attributed the good performance to high discipline among the students, commitment by teachers and motivation. The school introduced a monetary kit for pupils who excel.

“As you can see the results the last pupil scored 201 marks meaning every child was able to join secondary school. What I can say is that the school has been a second home for the children. We make them feel loved and valued by handling issues affecting them with seriousness,” said the school head.

“We also motivate the teachers so they can have the enthusiasm and dedication needed in teaching. In order to register good results everyone must play their part,” he added.

He also confirmed that having BOM teachers goes a long way to ensuring schools register sterling performance in the exam.
