Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Nancy Macharia has revealed that the commission has recognized 264 most outstanding teachers spread across the country’s 47 counties.
Speaking during the World Teachers’ Day event held at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi, Dr Macharia noted that the commission will also honour 51 teachers who have won national awards over the last two years, 21 of whom were awarded in 2022.

The awarded teachers, she argued, have consistently demonstrated exemplary performance in teaching, management and effective delivery of the curriculum for quality education and community service.
“The teachers were identified in strict adherence with the TSC Performance Recognition, Reward and Sanction Policy Framework,” she noted.

She expressed the commission’s commitment to continue exploring more ways to ensure teachers feel recognized and thanked them for their work of elevating the teaching profession to international levels.
