The Member of Parliament for Limuru John Kiragu has asked his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) committee to visit all the schools spread across the constituency to assess the effect of floods and give data for the same.
Speaking at Nyoro Primary School in Limuru Central Ward on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 where he had met the school heads, teachers and the Board of Management of the institution revealed that most of the schools in the constituency have been hit the worst by the on-going floods and requires to be repaired.

Kiragu noted that some institutions’ toilets had been filled with rainwater and risk spreading waterborne diseases like bilharzia if left unattended.
He was accompanied by his CDF team, engineers and administrators.
He revealed that his CDF was a leading team in assessing the schools to come up with a strategy to improve them.
“As we wait for the rains to stop and the schools to reopen, we want to ensure the environment our children find will be conducive for learning. We expect to move with speed to establish the most affected school. We do not want to see our children getting water or airborne diseases,” he noted.
The MP thanked the move by President William Ruto of setting aside money to assist in rehabilitating affected schools across the country.
