Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko on her birthday on 25th September graduated from USIU with a Master’s Degree in Arts in International Relations.
Taking to her social media pages, the spirited coast MP expressed gratitude to her supporters and those who encouraged her to finish her studies.
“The day has finally come, what a journey this has been… ” she wrote.
Mboko who graduated in 2005 from the University of Nairobi with a Diploma in Public Relations later joined Moi University and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Bachelor of Science (BSC) Communications and Public Relations.
The MP is amongst lawmakers who have gone back to school as IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati placed a degree requirement for aspirants of certain political offices.
“We follow the law and as the Election Act clearly state that all candidates in the six elective positions must have a university degree to qualify to run for office,’’ Chebukati said.
Warning aspirants not to use fake academic documents , which many in political office have been accused of, Chebukati said his office will liaise with Kenya National Qualification Authority and Commission for University Education (KNQACUE) to verify academic certification.
Mboko, the ODM MP who has thrown in the towel for seeking Mombasa gubernatorial post has been vocal in coastal politics and ever calling on the coastal girl child to take studies more seriously.
