Legislator promises to better education sector if re-elected

Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala has promised to increase the bursary allocation to Shs 60 million from Shs 30 million if re-elected.

The legislator said that the constituency had many needy students  who should be supported to continue their education.

Speaking after being cleared by IEBC to defend his seat, Bishop Khamala expressed commitment towards improving the education sector in the sub county.

He promised to improve infrastructure by constructing storey buildings in all secondary schools.

“I have constructed new classrooms in every primary schools as an indication of my desire to contribute towards the education sector,” he said.

The MP pointed out that he will demolish every building at Mwiyala Secondary School and construct modern storey buildings in the school.

The school lacks land for expansion and infrastructural developments,

The legislator asked school administrators of schools facing water shortages to install water tanks and drain water from River Sasala to serve them.

He said he will partner with Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and women Rep Elsy Muhanda.
