Legislator calls for infrastructural development in schools within hardship areas

Kapenguria MP has called on the government through the Ministry of Education to  allocate more  funds for infrastructural development   in schools  in pastoral areas in order to improve education   and spur  development.

Samuel Moroto, the MP, expressed concerns over lack of infrastructural development and learning facilities in schools in the hardship areas, something that has resulted in poor education standards.

Moroto called on the government to create a clear policy while giving out the funds.

Speaking while inspecting development projects at Meshack Tumkou Kamorrow Secondary School, Moroto said that schools in the areas bordering Uganda are in deplorable conditions and learners take their studies in poor learning environments.

Moroto called   for an affirmative action in education by putting more resources and improving infrastructure in schools   along county borders to help learners in the region access education.

He said that the move will also help curb insecurity in volatile the areas  to  promote education and help curb insecurity.

“Many children drop out of school because of lack of facilities hence migrate with their parents in search of pasture and water,” said Moroto.

Moroto  who  expressed his desire to help alleviate the challenges that pupils face in school, through the support of area leaders and county government, said that there is need to promote education; encouraging them to work hard amidst the hardship in the pursuit for education.
