Kyandu Bright Academy administrators have called for a quick action after its school bus was on Friday evening, March 13, 2026, attacked and stoned by unknown individuals at the 03 Stage area in Kakutha while transporting pupils back to school after sports activities.

The new bus, registration number KDV 099H belonging to the Machakos based school, popularly known as “The Achievers” was ferrying 46 pupils to school after participating in the ongoing school games in the County.

According to the school administration, the attack happened barely five kilometers from the school, in an area considered safe and unlikely to witness such violence.

The school’s Director Timothy Kimolo condemned the incident, terming it a serious threat to the safety and wellbeing of learners.

“This act should not be taken lightly. It is an assault. It is traumatizing and frightening for the pupils involved. It is deeply troubling that such violence would be directed at a bus transporting school children,” he said.

Kimolo said the location of the incident has raised even more concern since it happened close to the institution.

“03 Stage is barely five kilometers from the school. It is the least place anyone would expect such an incident to happen, yet the bus was carrying innocent pupils returning from sports,” he added.

The school management has now called on security agencies to launch immediate investigations and ensure those behind the reckless act are identified and brought to book.

They insist that firm action must be taken against the perpetrators to prevent such dangerous incidents from happening again.

They also urged organizers of school games and other learning activities to ensure events conclude before 6:00 PM to enhance the safety of learners traveling back to their schools.

Parents have also expressed outrage over the incident emphasizing that the safety and protection of children must remain a top priority at all times.
