Emgwen Member of Parliament speaking during graduation ceremony at Kapsigoria institute of training and Mission

Member of Parliament (MP) of Emgwen Jesses Lelmengit has urged leaders to prioritize funding for education for the needy, emphasizing its role in empowering youth and fostering creativity for personal and community development.

Speaking at the Kapsigoria Institute of Training and Mission in Marakwet West, Lelmengit stressed that education is the key to unlocking opportunities, subsequently improving the economy and livelihoods.

Additionally, Lelmengit called on leaders to allocate resources for education through the National Government Constituency Development Fund and county scholarship programs, emphasizing the importance of capacity building.

He also urged youth to seize existing education funding opportunities to advance their studies.

Expressing concern over the high number of students dropping out due to financial constraints, the MP emphasized that education is an equalizer and a powerful tool for improving livelihoods.

“I consider myself a community product. Having been rescued after dropping out of school, I champion the cause of funding for needy learners,” remarked Lelmengit.
