Owade & Co. Advocates petitions Migori Labour Officer to release certified KUPPET election documents for six clients preparing for January 2026 polls.

Owade & Co. Advocates has formally petitioned the County Labour Officer in Migori County to release certified documents required for the forthcoming KUPPET Migori Branch elections.

In a letter dated November 12, 2025 and acknowledged by the Labour Office the same day, the firm—through Advocate G.O. Owade—requested certified copies of the KUPPET Constitution, the KUPPET Migori Branch voters’ register, and the official elections schedule.

The request was made on behalf of six clients: Kenneth Ouma Boro, Joyce Lusia Lunani, Benard Ochieng Obonyo, Kenas Onyango Nyadimo, Silas Owora Otieno, and Kenneth Obiero. According to the letter, the clients issued instructions to the firm after the current Executive Secretary of the Migori KUPPET Branch communicated that the branch elections would be held on 10th January 2026, with the notice having been issued on November 7, 2025.

Owade stated that his clients require the certified documents to prepare for the upcoming elections adequately.

“Our clients simply seek transparency and access to the official records that guide this electoral process,” he noted.

“These materials are important for fair participation.”

The advocate further affirmed that the clients are prepared to meet any incidental costs.

“We are ready to cover the necessary charges once notified,” Owade explained. “What matters most is that the process remains open, lawful, and timely.”

He also asked the Labour Office to send an official confirmation if any of the requested documents are unavailable.

“A clear response, even where something cannot be provided, is important,” he noted. “Uncertainty only fuels suspicion in an already sensitive environment.”

One of the clients, speaking through the legal team, emphasised the need for a level playing field.

“We are not asking for special treatment,” the client said. “We only want proper access to the same documents that govern the election.”

Another client stressed the significance of the documents in upholding integrity.

“These records ensure credibility,” he said. “They are not just for us—they protect the entire Migori KUPPET election.”

The letter, bearing the law firm’s official stamp and signature, was sent from the firm’s office at Cosade Building in Suna–Migori and copied to all six clients.

The request now awaits action from the County Labour Office, with the outcome expected to influence preparations ahead of the January 2026 elections.
