Labour CS urges youth to secure passports for jobs abroad

Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua has urged the youth in Machakos to secure passports in readiness to travel for jobs abroad.

Speaking during an Empowerment drive for Boda Boda operators organized by area Member of Parliament Caleb Mule held at  Machakos Teachers College on Friday,Dr Mutua said that he had set aside Sh20 Million to facilitate the processing of jobs abroad for youths hence they will not be required to pay any amount for the service.

He added that he will continue assisting youths to get jobs abroad despite claims that he was favouring the region.

MP Mule distributed a total of Sh4.3 Million shillings to various Boda Boda groups across the constituency in the event held at Machakos Teachers College grounds.

He said he will further sponsor 500 youths for training and driving licences to operate Boda Boda,30 youths for mini buses locally known as Maruti and 30 youths for Tuk Tuk.

Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule Muli who was in attendance said that President William Ruto had good plans for the youth and urged them to support the government to reap the benefits.

He added that the region should not be divided and remain in opposition because of personal interests.

“We have been sent by the President with the message that he has good plans for the youths,”said Mr Muli.

Mr Muli and other MPs including Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi), Senator Tabitha Mutinda and Senator Beth Syengo gave their contributions towards the Boda Boda cause which they said was part of the government’s Bottom up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
