Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hailed the renaming of Kyuso Girls School to Mama Pauline Kalonzo Girls – Kyuso as a powerful affirmation of community commitment to the education of the girl child.

In a Facebook post shared on February 14, 2025, Kalonzo described the moment as deeply personal and symbolic, noting that the honour bestowed upon his wife transcends individual recognition.

“Today, in the heart of Kyuso, my community bestowed upon my family an honour that transcends personal recognition,” he wrote.

The ceremony, held on Valentine’s Day, brought together leaders, students, and residents to witness the unveiling of the new name. The plaque carried a heartfelt message celebrating Mama Pauline Kalonzo’s long-standing advocacy for girls’ education.

Reflecting on the occasion, Kalonzo reiterated his lifelong belief in inclusive education.

“Education is not a privilege for the fortunate few; it is the birthright of every Kenyan child,” he stated.

The former Vice President recalled his humble beginnings, explaining that his upbringing in rural Kenya shaped his conviction that quality education must be accessible to all, regardless of geography or economic status.

“Every child, whether born in rural villages or bustling cities, deserves an equal shot at excellence, opportunity, and dignity,” he added.

Kalonzo emphasised that the renaming of the school was not simply a ceremonial act but a declaration of shared community values.

“The renaming of this school is not merely about honouring one woman. It is a declaration by an entire community that they are invested in the education of their daughters,” he said.

He further described education as the most transformative force in society.
