Kwale Boys High School has sent 317 students to university after attaining a mean score of 8.4 in the 2022 KCSE examination, according to Chief Principal Michael Mutua.

The school in Matuga sub-county, Kwale County, registered an improvement of 1.3 from a mean score of 7.09 in 2021.

Speaking to Education News in his office, Mutua attributed the impressive performance to discipline among the students and team work among teachers.

He said they have put in place efficient strategies to sustain and improve performance progressively in the years ahead, one of them being completion of the syllabus early to allow candidates ample time for revision.

The Chief Principal thanked God for enabling them to post the impressive results and also thanked parents for being supportive by paying fees on time and providing their children with necessities.

He further thanked the Board of Management (BoM) for being close to the teachers and enabling a conducive working environment for students and support staff.

“Our brilliant performance was as a result a concerted effort by all the stakeholders. The teachers are always committed to their work, while students are in constant consultation with them when in need of assistance,” he stated.

Expressing his gratitude to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ministry of Education (MoE), Mutua said that without their staffing and infrastructural funding respectively, they might not have been able to get to where they are.

Kwale County Government was also lauded for sponsoring needy and bright students.
