Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has expressed concern over threats targeted at teachers across the country for posting poor results in the 2024 KCSE.
KUPPET Migori County branch Executive Samwel Orwa Jasolo has said there are people in the country who have threatened to eject some of the Principals due to poor examinations results in their schools.
Condemning such incidents, the threats only worsen situations as they instill fear in teachers.

Jasolo cited some schools like Kibuon where there are plans hatched by some political leaders to have School Principal transferred. The Principal has stayed in the school less than a year and the same institution has had approximately 7 Principals since 2014.
The executive secretary added that teachers should be given enough time so as to prepare students to produce good grades in national examinations.

He went further to advise education stakeholders in the area and beyond to deal with some heavy matters ailing their schools instead of directing their fury to the teachers.
He said issues such as hardship allowance requires to be dealt with urgently in Nyatike Sub-county so as to motivate teachers in the region that is regarded as a hardship area.
