KUPPET says delayed capitation slowing down operations in schools

The government has delayed the disbursement of capitation to schools. This has led to lack of finances in schools for their operations.

According to Mogere Caleb, the Executive Secretary KUPPET Kilifi branch, Term Two co-curricular activities will also be negatively affected due to lack of funds.

Capitation funds to schools should be adequate and timely to enable learning and co-curricular activities in schools to run smoothly.

The government must review the amount of money that they give as capitation to schools since the economic conditions have worsened due to inflation rates.

The capitation to Junior Secondary Schools must not be reduced since this will affect learning in those schools.

Remember these schools lack enough teachers and learning and teaching resources.
