KUPPET lauds security organs for ensuring peace for education development

Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers (KUPPET) Kisii branch has lauded security organs for ensuring peace which enabled schools in the county to produce exemplary results in the 2022 national primary and secondary examinations.

Speaking during a Kisii County Education Stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday, the Branch Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha said that security from the provincial administration, teachers’ devotion and co-operation and learners’ determination led to success in the examinations.

In attendance were; both KUPPET and KNUT officials, select secondary school principals, Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Kisii University VC Professor Joseph Akama.

Governor Arati underscored the importance of education and said that his government will work hand in hand with the national government to boost education standards.

He disclosed that his government has employed more than 600 ECDE teachers on permanent and pensionable terms and asked the national government to disburse more money to the counties to enable them improve infrastructure in schools.

The governor further noted that the County Assembly approved more than Ksh 75 million towards establishment of the Ward Education Fund.
