KUPPET Bomet maintains teachers’ strike is still on

KUPPET and KNUT officials in Bomet. KUPPET has maintained that the teachers’ strike slated for Monday will go on as announced.

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Bomet branch has maintained that the teachers’ strike slated for Monday will go on as announced.

Branch Secretary Paul Kimetto observed that teachers have announced their preparedness for the strike, and are keen to ensure it is a success.

Addressing the press in Bomet town, he told parents not to send their children to school, as no teacher shall be present to ensure their children’s safety.

“The teachers’ strike slated for Monday will continue as planned. The government has not been honest and we ask parents not to send their children to school,” he said.

“Teachers have been advised to stay away from school. They should not be seen anywhere close to school not even near the gate. Teachers are ready to down tools as long as it takes,” added Kimetto.
