KUPPET Baringo Vice Chairman Zakayo Kibet has asked Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers to join teacher Saccos for them to benefit from the products and services provided by those Saccos.
Speaking during Boresha Sacco’s Education Day in Nakuru City, Kibet said many young teachers should invest in teacher Saccos for their economic stability.
“We have adequate evidence to prove that Saccos have many economic benefits. We encourage JSS teachers to join teacher Saccos for them to get these benefits,” said Kibet.
He also advised teacher Saccos to visit schools where JSS is hosted and market their products to the teachers there, noting that as KUPPET, they have seen the lives of teachers transform because of Saccos.
“Saccos are the only economic tool which can assist a teacher to buy a plot, to invest in various businesses and also to educate their children,” he said.
The unionist told JSS teachers that saving in a Sacco will benefit them more than when they take their money to other financial institutions.
