The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially reopened its portal for applications to 28 select Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses available for the September 2025 intake.

KMTC issued the update on Wednesday, July 23, noting that the reopening follows the closure of the initial application window on July 7. The institution has invited aspiring medical professionals to take advantage of the remaining slots.

“Attention future health heroes! The KUCCPS Portal is open again for KMTC applications. Your path to joining the healthcare workforce begins here,” KMTC announced in its statement.

Applicants have six days to submit their applications via the KUCCPS student portal, students.kuccps.net. Out of the 28 available programs, nine are certificate-level, while the other 19 are diplomas.

The certificate options include courses in Medical Engineering, Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine, Health Records and Information Technology, Health Insurance Management, Public Health, Community Health Assistance, Nutrition and Dietetics, Medical Emergency Technician, and Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing.

Meanwhile, certificate courses are also available at diploma level. Additional programs include Radiography and Imaging, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Community Oral Health, and Health Counselling.

This announcement arrives shortly after KUCCPS released placement results for students who applied during the June 23 to July 7 application period.

Students eager to confirm their placement status are advised to log into their KUCCPS accounts using their KCSE index number, exam year, and a password, either their KCPE index number or birth certificate number. Once logged in, they can view whether they’ve been placed into a KMTC program.

The race is on, and time is ticking. Prospective students should act swiftly to secure their spot.
