Applicants placed in different universities and colleges across the country last month by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and wish to change the institutions can now do that.

KUCCPS through its official website on X formerly Twitter has announced that the 2024 inter-institution transfer portal has been opened today and will be closed on July 4, 2024.

“The process targets applicants placed in universities and colleges in the 2024/2025 Placement Cycle and would wish to change their institutions. Inter-Institutional Transfer (IIT) also allows change of courses, provided that the applicant meets the applicable cut-off points, subject to endorsement by the receiving institution,” KUCCPS wrote.

The applicants who would wish to changes are asked to apply via the student’s portal http://students.kuccps.net.

The process of doing a successful school and course transfer is as follows;

The applicants are asked to click on the “Transfer Application” tab on the dashboard once they have successfully logged in then proceed to enter the code of the institution and programme that you wish to transfer to.

Select the reason for which you are seeking the transfer, proceed to make a payment of KSh1, 000 following the provided payment instructions. Then submit their transfer application using the provided e-Citizen Payment Reference Code.

The applicants can monitor the progress of their application for transfer through the student’s portal.

Both the receiving and releasing institutions are required to endorse the application and they can monitor this through the portal. If the receiving institution declines to endorse the application for transfer, the applicants will be notified through the portal and advised to try a different programme in either the same institution or a different one. The process will move to KUCCPS after the endorsements.

Once the request for transfer has been approved by KUCCPS,  applicants are required to download and print the transfer letter and submit one copy to the institution  where they  are transferring to so that the institution  can issue the admission letter and other joining instructions.
