The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a series of ongoing support centres across Western Kenya to assist students with the first course revision in 2025.
The support exercise, running from yesterday Thursday, May 22, to Tuesday, May 27, targets various groups, including 2024 Form Four leavers who applied unsuccessfully, KCSE 2024 candidates with C+ and above who have yet to apply for degree programmes, and KCSE 2000–2024 candidates seeking slots in TVET institutions or the Open University of Kenya.
According to Neville Lukaya, KUCCPS Regional Coordinator for Western Kenya, the centres are part of a nationwide effort to bring services closer to the people and ensure no qualified applicant is left out.

“We have established these support centres to ensure that no eligible student is left behind during the application and revision process,” said Lukaya.
The designated centres in the Western region are located at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and Mumias West Technical and Vocational College in Kakamega County, Kibabii University in Bungoma, Bunyala TVC and Alupe University in Busia, and Kaimosi Friends University in Vihiga County.
Lukaya called on candidates to take full advantage of the support available at these centres to avoid errors or missed opportunities in course placement.
“We urge applicants to use these centres, especially those unsure about their programme choices or those who faced challenges in the initial application window,” he added.
KUCCPS emphasised that the support initiative is critical in promoting equitable access to post-secondary education and empowering students to make informed career decisions.
