The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on July 26, 2025, engaged 450 Form four students during a Career Expo held at Moi Forces Academy, Mombasa.
The event aimed to equip students with vital information on course selection, placement processes and higher education opportunities.
The KUCCPS team, led by Director for Placement Coordination and Career Development Prof John Oluoch, conducted detailed presentations guiding students on how to align their subject choices with available courses in universities and TVET institutions. The sessions explained the placement application process, available government-sponsored programmes, and factors students should consider when choosing career paths.
Students from four secondary schools within Mombasa County participated in the forum, which also brought together stakeholders from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), various universities and TVET institutions. These representatives provided additional insights on education financing, academic programmes and diverse career opportunities in different fields.

The Career Expo is part of KUCCPS’ ongoing commitment to empower students, parents and teachers across the country through structured career guidance and sensitization forums. The agency aims to ensure that students make informed choices that match their interests and abilities, while also addressing gaps in awareness about opportunities available in higher education.
The event featured interactive sessions where students asked questions about course selection, entry requirements and financial aid options. Stakeholders present reaffirmed their commitment to supporting students through the placement process and beyond, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic and professional journeys.
KUCCPS continues to conduct similar forums nationwide as part of its efforts to demystify the placement process and promote equal access to education and career guidance services.
