Kshs45million to benefit over 6,000 students in bursaries released

Alego-Usonga NG-CDF committee has released Kshs 45 million to benefit over 6,000 students in terms of bursaries for the Financial Year 2022/2023.

Speaking during the release of the bursaries in his constituency, area MP Samuel Atandi stated that the Kshs 45 Million will benefit 6,072 students who include 102 under the full scholarship program.

Of Kshs 45 million, secondary schools got the lion share in the bursary allocation with a total of Kshs 28.8 million followed by colleges at Kshs 9.4 million with full scholarship beneficiaries getting a total of Kshs 5.3 million.

The final special needs learners’ category also got a total of Kshs 1.5 million in bursaries.

The lawmaker revealed that they have also set aside some Kshs 10 million that will benefit the Form One students whose applications are yet to be considered by the NG-CDF committee.

Atandi pointed out that they had made a unilateral decision to begin with the bursary disbursement before they can embark on infrastructural development in schools based on the areas that the constituents prioritized during the recent public participation exercises.
