The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will be released in January 2024.
Speaking during the release of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination (KCPE) at the New Mitihani House, Nairobi, KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr David Njeng’ere said the marking of KCPE was a priority and the results of KPSEA will be released before the learners proceed to Junior School.
A total of 1,253,577 candidates sat the Grade 6 KPSEA exams in October.

The results will be released in three levels, including individual learner reports, school specific reports, and a national report.
He called on parents to embrace the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), which is now fully implemented.
This year’s KCPE cohort was the last and paves way for the full implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in primary school, with KPSEA replacing the 4-decade old KCPE.
Over 26 million candidates have sat KCPE since it was launched in 1985. A total of 103,000 non-citizens have also been certified after sitting the examinations.
