KPSEA, KJSEA exams kick off well across Kisii sub-counties

Gucha Deputy County Commissioner Esther Kungu and Sub-county Education Director David Oyoko oversee the smooth start of KPSEA and KJSEA exams.

The Kenya Primary School Assessment Examinations (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Assessment Examinations (KJSEA) started well on Day One. They ended smoothly in most Sub-counties of Kisii, including Sameta, Kitutu Central, Gucha, Kenyanya Nyamache, and Etago, among others.

Sameta Sub-county presented a total candidature of 4040 for both examinations from 82 examination centres.

The examinations were flagged off by the area Deputy County Commissioner, Gabriel Kioni, and the Sub-County Education Director, Christine Ongwae.

Mrs Ongwae said that in KPSEA, 1092 male candidates are attempting the examinations, while 977 females are, making a total of 2069 KPSEA candidates from the area across 49 examination centres.

She said that in KJSEA, there are 935 girls and 879 boys from 33 examination centres.

She appealed to all those involved in administering the examinations to handle them with significant responsibility to produce credible results.

In Kitutu Central Sub-county, the Deputy County Commissioner led the other examination officials to open the examination container at Nyanchwa Police Station at 6:00am, reporting that one candidate was sitting his examinations from the Prison over an unspecified crime.

Later in the evening, he reported that the examinations ran smoothly on Day One.

Gucha Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner Esther Kungi and area Sub-County Education Director David Oyoko said that the start of day one examinations from 23 centres in the Sub-county augured well and expressed hope of a good ending.
