KNUT urges Govt to increase funds to schools

The government has been urged to increase funds to schools in Taita Taveta County  to put up modern infrastructure to enhance effective teaching and learning.

Speaking to Education News at Wundanyi town recently, Kenya National Union of Teachers ( KNUT ) Taita Taveta County branch executive secretary Mr. Lennox Mshila lamented that many primary and secondary schools in the region lacked adequate infrastructure.

He attributed congestion in schools to lack of classrooms, disclosing that learners took their lessons under unhealthy environment.

He also said that some schools in the county do not have laboratories and yet compete with those whose schools are fully equipped.
