Teachers across Trans Mara have been praised for their unity, professionalism and steadfast service as the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Trans Mara Branch ushered in 2026 with a message of gratitude and renewed resolve.
Trans Mara branch Executive Secretary Willy Korir said collective strength and discipline helped safeguard teachers’ welfare and sustain union stability through a demanding year.
In his New Year message, Korir acknowledged that 2025 tested the teaching fraternity in multiple ways, but noted that solidarity, mutual respect and constructive engagement kept the branch focused on its core mandate, representing and defending teachers’ interests across Transmara East, West and South. He credited trust from members as the foundation of the branch’s progress.
“Our greatest strength has been the trust and support of teachers across Transmara East, West and South. Through unity, we were able to navigate challenges and continue advocating for the welfare and dignity of our members,” he said, underscoring the importance of cohesion in advancing teachers’ rights.

He said the branch will intensify constructive engagement with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and other stakeholders to address emerging issues affecting educators, including welfare, professional development and workplace conditions.
Korir emphasized that KNUT Trans Mara remains focused on promoting unity within the teaching fraternity while championing fair treatment, professionalism and respect for educators. He framed these values as essential to strengthening the education sector and sustaining public confidence in schools.
He concluded by wishing teachers and their families a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, expressing hope that 2026 will bring renewed strength, stability and success to the education sector. The message, he said, is both a reflection on the resilience shown in 2025 and a call to collective purpose in the year ahead.
