Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Collins Oyuu escaped unhurt after his car rolled several times yesterday as he headed for the airport in Kisumu.
His deputy Hesbon Otieno reports that the accident involved a motorbike as he negotiated his way to catch an early flight to Nairobi.
The incident happened at the Yago area along the Kisian-Bondo road.
Accounts by eyewitnesses relay that the car tipped over and rolled as it avoided a direct collision with the motorcycle.
However, by what can only be described as sheer luck, both Oyuu and his driver emerged from the wreckage unscathed.
As a precaution, the duo sought medical evaluation at the Aga Khan Hospital. They are out and in stable condition.
