Parliamentary Education committee has been prevailed to let the Teachers service commission release January promotional letters and ensure hawk eyed scrutiny in any upcoming promotions.
Senior Knut official from Rift valley agreed that TSC made glaring mistakes as pointed out by the Committee but cancelling the promotions will negatively affect the esteem of many teachers who succeeded after long stagnation.
The official requested the committee to source for enough funds that will enable TSC promote more teachers.
“We agree that inconsistencies marked the January promotional exercise as pointed out by the Education committee but the same doesn’t warrant suspension of the whole process,” the Knut official said.
He further advised the committee to be always keen on TSC activities including the upcoming replacement of teachers who have so far exited the payroll.

On the other hand, unsuccessful teachers have come out to call for nullification of the process terming it as unfair after their colleagues who have few years in the profession making it to the list.
TSC was given seven days by the Education committee to address controversies that clouded January promotions.
“Upto now, we are yet to discuss this issues raised because, most of the issues we raised, we have been trying to check the documents submitted, but we are not getting them,” Said an agitated commitment chair.
Education news has learnt that the TSC officials are running around trying to gather all the necessary paraphernalia related to January promotions in a bid to convince the Education committee that indeed the interviews were beyond reproach.
