KNUT Kitui Executive Secretary Nding’o retains seat after hotly contested election

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Kitui Branch Executive Secretary Simon Mutunga Nding’o has retained his seat after the branch’s hotly contested elections.

Mutunga Nding’o who has led the KNUT Kitui Branch as the Executive Secretary since 2016, retained the seat after trouncing his two rivals Peter Mutava and Barnabas Wambua Kimanzi.

The KNUT Kitui Branch Chairman Samuel Kathinuku was also returned to the office by members unopposed.

The Branch Treasurer Catherine Mwikali Katee also retained her seat after defeating her sole rival Tabitha Ngui.

On the Women Representative’s position, Elizabeth K. Mulwa went on unopposed.

Regarding the Branch Persons with Disabilities position, Boniface Muema Makuthu defeated his sole rival Christopher Kakai Mutia.

The Assistant Executive Secretary position was won by Paul Mule Mbaluka where he defeated his sole rival Moses Kimanzi in the elections.

Nicholas M. Mulwa emerged the winner for the Vice Chairman seat after flooring his sole rival Ignatius Nzilu Wambua as Moody Muthengi went in as the Assistant Branch Treasurer unopposed.

The event took place at the Kitui Teachers Training College where the KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu was the event’s chief guest, and the Kitui County Labour Officer, Joseph Bayo was the event’s Returning Officer.
