Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Teso branch has sent success wishes to all KPSEA and KCPE candidates, which are set to kick off on October 30 and end on November 1.

In the success cards sent to all 186 public and private schools, the branch Executive Secretary Geoffrey Ekasiba told candidates to shine bright like a star and be strong and courageous.

“…remember that success is always the result of adequate preparations, hardwork and the favour of God,” he said.

“My prayer for you is that you will do your best and that you will achieve nothing less than the very best.”

Ekasiba thanked the teachers for the good work, noting that the task to deliver quality results now rests on the candidates since they have played their role.

“Parents should also reduce family squabbles and drinking habits to give their children time and conducive environment to revise their work,” he added.

Ekasiba said the branch has not witnessed cases of cheating in KCPE exams in recent years, noting that the team from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) confirmed that in their recent tour of the region.

The best score recorded in 2022 KCPE was 431 marks out of a possible 500, on which two candidates Otieno Lewis Omondi of St Peter’s Mumias and Fwaro Makokha of Christ the King Bungoma tied.

A national total of 1.4 million candidates are set to sit this year’s KCPE compared to 1.2 million in 2022, making it the highest ever.
