The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to train teachers who will serve as examiners for six subjects as from next month.
The examinations body, through a notice, said that secondary school teachers will be trained from April 24th to April 28th and the location of the training will soon be confirmed and posted. The training fee for the already shortlisted applicants who will be notified through a text message will be Ksh.10, 500.
The targeted examiners are for the following subjects; English both paper 1, 2, and 3, Biology Paper 1, Paper 2 and Biology Paper 3.
Others are Chemistry both Paper 2 and 3, History Paper 1 and Paper 2, CRE Paper 1, CRE Paper 2, Computer Studies Paper 1 and paper 2.
In a circular seen by Education News, KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Njoroge, noted that teachers with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords.
He said that the applicants should be below 50 years of age and should be employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) with a teaching experience of not less than 3 years.
The teachers with discipline issues before will not be taken into consideration for the training.
Since the training slots are limited, only the qualified teachers who will present the required documents will be shortlisted for the training exercise.
