KNEC starts 30 day registration for CBC Assessments

By Education News reporter

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has started registering the second cohort of learners who will sit this year’s Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) examinations in November.

According to KNEC registration timelines, the registration of learners who will sit for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for regular learners and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) for special needs learners started March 3, 2023.

The registration is expected to end on April 3, 2023 with headteachers who are also Centre Managers being instructed that no learner will be registered after the set deadline.

The KPSEA and KILEA are summative assessment under the new curriculum and part of the Competency Based Assessment (CBA), which accounts for 40 per cent of the final tally at the end of Grade 6.
