The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has called on members of the public, teachers, and candidates to report any incidents of examination malpractice or irregularities through its officially designated whistleblowing channels.
The council said whistleblowing is a key component in protecting the credibility of national exams and ensuring fairness for all learners across the country.
In a statement, KNEC assured the public that all reports of suspected malpractice will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and that individuals may remain anonymous.
It emphasised that maintaining the integrity of Kenya’s examination system requires collective vigilance from all stakeholders, including education officials, parents, and members of the public.
According to KNEC, those wishing to report irregularities can do so by writing letters addressed to the council, which can be submitted either physically or electronically.

In addition, KNEC encouraged the use of social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, and LinkedIn to share verified information on any suspicious activities related to examinations.
The council further directed that any reports of misconduct by police officers or other security personnel manning examination centres be reported to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) through the toll-free line 1559.
KNEC reaffirmed its commitment to upholding transparency and credibility in the management of national examinations, urging all Kenyans to play their part in preserving the integrity of the process.
The statement comes at a time when national examinations are ongoing across the country under heightened security and close supervision by education officials.
