Bonchari MP Dr. Charles Onchoke has lauded the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) for barring security officers from entering examination rooms, particularly in schools sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams.
Dr. Onchoke said that the presence of the officers near the candidates would scare the learners and lead to unnecessary panicking.
“I appreciate the KNEC for making these changes to ensure a free atmosphere for our children to write their exams comfortably,” he said.
Dr. Onchoke was speaking at Itierio Lutheran church during its consecration and celebration of 75 years since its inception in the region.
The MP cautioned candidates to desist from participating in any form of exam malpractices, asking parents to distance themselves from conmen seeking payment to avail fake exam papers.
He asked the Ministry of Education and KNEC to continue sealing leakage loopholes to enhance credibility of national examinations.
