The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) July 2025 series of exams has kicked off today, July 14, as tight regulations put in place against any exams irregularities.

The examinations will take place in accredited Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, teacher training colleges and other registered examination centers.

The July exams series includes assessments for diploma, certificate and artisan level programs, which   cover a broad range of fields such as business, technical trades, hospitality, education and health sciences. Both theoretical and practical examinations are scheduled, depending on the nature of each course.

KNEC confirmed that all exam materials have been distributed to sub-county collection points across the country under secure conditions. Trained supervisors and invigilators have been deployed to examination centers, while local security teams are on standby to ensure smooth administration and curb any form of malpractice.

The Ministry of Education has emphasized the importance of credible assessments and warned against cheating or possession of unauthorized materials during the exams. Any candidate found engaging in malpractice risks cancellation of results or legal action.

Practical assessments in areas such as electrical installation, plumbing, ICT, motor vehicle mechanics and hairdressing will follow after theory papers. These will be conducted in institution workshops and specialized labs equipped for training and testing.

The exams are scheduled to run over several weeks. Institutions are expected to make necessary arrangements for candidates with special needs, in line with national inclusive education guidelines.

This July series is one of the three national examination sessions administered by KNEC annually, alongside the March and November series.
