The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) in collaboration with the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) has organized a two-day training workshop for officers involved in management of KNEC TVET examinations.
The main purpose of the workshop is to equip managers in TVET institutions with skills to manage national examinations effectively, address examination procedures, online registration, coursework, project assessments and emerging issues in assessment while enhancing their professionalism.
The workshop has already taken place in three regions while the remaining three regions will hold the training soon.
On 6th and 7th June, the Rift Valley, Coast and Nyanza regions held their training at Rift Institute of Science and Technology in Nakuru, Kenya Coast National Polytechnic in Mombasa and Kisumu National Polytechnic in Kisumu respectively.
Between 9th and 10th June, Nairobi, Mount Kenya and Western regions will be receiving their trainings at Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology in Kiambu Town, Nyeri National Polytechnic in Nyeri Town and Kitale National Polytechnic in Kitale respectively.
KNEC has requested institutions to facilitate participants from their institutions with travel and accommodation expenses to enable them attend the workshop as per the schedule above.
In addition to that, all principals in TVET institutions have been urged to liase with national and regional KATTI offices in order to plan and facilitate the workshops in their regions.
