The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a stern warning to the public about fake websites and agents falsely claiming to represent the Council.

According to KNEC, several online platforms have been publishing misleading information about examinations, results, admissions, and government job vacancies, causing confusion among students, parents, and job seekers.

“These websites are not affiliated with KNEC in any way. We urge the public to verify all information through official KNEC channels before taking any action,” the Council stated

KNEC emphasized that all official announcements, including examination timetables, results, and recruitment information, are published exclusively on the official KNEC website and in the MyGov publication. Any other source claiming to offer KNEC services should be treated with caution.

The council further noted that some of these fake websites not only provide false information but also attempt to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, either through payment requests, personal data collection, or promises of preferential treatment.

The examination body reiterated that no legitimate KNEC service requires payment outside the official channels.

The students, teachers, and the public are advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious websites or social media accounts claiming to represent KNEC.

“Using only verified sources will ensure access to accurate information and protect individuals from potential fraud.”

KNEC concluded by reminding the public that staying informed and cautious is the best way to avoid falling victim to misinformation. For any inquiries or verifications, stakeholders should contact KNEC directly via official contacts provided on the website.

The Council’s message is clear: trust only official KNEC platforms, avoid unverified sources, and help spread awareness to protect others from misinformation.
