Police in Kisii have launched investigations into the death of a Kenya Medical Training college (KMTC) student which occurred last night.
Nyanchwa Police station OCPD Tom Achia confirmed the incident and said the first year student at KMTC committed suicide at his girlfriend’s house in what is said to be a love triangle affair.
“The girlfriend also a student at the said institution reported the matter with us that her two boyfriends engaged in a fight after his first boyfriend paid a surprise visit ,” said Achia.
He told Education News that the two bumping into each other resulted in a fight before the first boyfriend surrendered and ran away leaving her with the new boyfriend.
The police boss noted that from the statement recorded by the girl caught up in the love triangle indicated that minutes later the said boyfriend took a bed sheet and committed suicide.
He however noted that the body of the deceased had visible deep cuts on the stomach.
The body was removed to Kisii teaching and referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
