Kitutu Masaba TVC Principal urges parents to enroll children in technical colleges

Kitutu Masaba Technical and Vocational College (TVC) Principal James Nyakundi emphasizes the importance of technical and vocational training for youth skills development.

Kitutu Masaba Technical and Vocational College (KMTVC) Principal James Nyakundi has urged parents to encourage their children to enrol in technical and vocational institutions to acquire relevant skills for sustainable livelihoods.

The Principal said that, unlike in the past, when students took three years to complete their courses at his institution to be certified, the college has introduced modules that enable a learner to be approved within three months of joining.

“This has made learning easy and accessible to many youths who could not have been patient for three years to complete the course,” he said.

The principal asked the youth to seize the opportunity to visit the college for admission, as it offers easy payment programmes, with most of the cost coveredCentre by the government through sponsored scholarships.

Emphasising that education has no age limit, he asked young parents who are ready to learn to visit the institution and consult on the best ways forward, to help them achieve their career dreams.

He regretted that most young people, especially the recent graduates from University, end up living a separate life after staying at home for some time after completion of their education courses and end up indulging in social evils like drug abuse instead of taking courses like building and construction for skills that will help them earn a living.

The Principal said that the Masaba Vocational and Technical Education College team will run a month-long campaign to sensitise the populace on the importance of vocational education.

He said the team will visit various markets, including Keroka, Tombe, Kemera, Gesima, and Kijauri, to meet with people and inform them about the college’s new developments.

He appealed to area Chiefs, their Assistants, the Nyumba Kumi and Church communities to join his staff at their respective markets and social centres to ensure the exercise’s success.
