Kitutu Chache North National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) office has started full Secondary School education bursaries to enable Grade 10 students from poor homes to join senior schools.
Speaking at the office on Monday January 26, area Member of Parliament (MP) Japheth Nyakundi said the scholarship will include initial shopping of the uniform, mattress and other personal effects.
He asked parents and guardians to provide parental love to sustain their children as they navigate the academic journey.
“We all know that education is the only fair equaliser of people in society and we must use it to bless our fellow human beings,” he said.
During the launch of the programme that involved more than 60 students, Nyakundi provide Uniforms, Metal boxes and other personal effects to the Grade 10 students who reported at their different schools of choice.
The MP said his action was an adherence to President Ruto’s call to ensure all Grade 10 pupils joined senior schools without any conditions.

Nyakundi asked the residents especially his political opponents not politicize the exercise instead join hands to support the development of education for the prosperity of the current generation.
Cyrus Menda, one of one of the beneficiaries who joined Nyakeiri Secondary School narrated with humor how he had decided to start selling sugarcane at Nyakoe market because his single mother could not afford payment of the required fees but now he is sure of joining senior school..
He said he will work hard in school to achieve his dream of passing exams well and become a Principal of high school.
“I am very thankful and aspire to work hard to pass exams to avoid shaming my mother and become a high school principal.” He said
Peterson Ong’era who is a guardian of one of his nieces who will join Nyabururi National School, thanked the office for the help and asked the NG-CDF committee in the area to consider getting more sources to reinforce the funds they have for the programme’s sustainability.
