Kisumu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Joshua Oron has disbursed bursaries worth Ksh 5 million.
The MP said the funds are the first tranche of Ksh 35 million worth of bursary funds which have been set aside from the National Government Constituency Development Funds (NG-CDF).
During the occasion held at Tumsifu Hall, Oron also gave out boxes, blankets and shoes to needy students heading to Form One.
Dr. Oron said all who applied for the bursaries have been considered.
The first time MP said that all deserving cases were looked into and that all who applied for the bursary were considered.
Dr Oron assured residents that no deserving pupil in his constituency will stay at home due to lack of school fees.
He noted that he had made arrangements with school heads so that all needy cases are identified in all corners of the area.
