Kisumu Day eliminated as Nyanza Region secondary school games enter semis

Koderobara from Migori County and Agoro Sare of Siaya have today morning settled for a barren draw in their Nyanza Region Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) entertaining football match. The draw has resulted to the Kisumu Day Secondary exiting the championships.

In today’s match, Kisumu Day Secondary needed the favourites Agoro Sare to win so that they can have chance to advance to the semis. Yesterday, Kisumu Day fell 1-2 to KoderoBara. However, Agoro Sare decided to settle for a draw to avoid meeting Kisumu Day in final.

Today’s match was played at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho in Kisii County. Both teams have proceeded to the semis.

In the first semi-final match later today,  Agoro Sare will meet Tonga from Homa Bay County while Koderobara and Ambira High of Siaya will battle in the second semi-final match.

The match was characterised by few shots on target and corners.

In a similar incidence during Kakamega County games recently, Kakamega Boys needed Musingu High to beat underdogs Chebuyusi of Navakholo Sub-county by 2-0 to advance.

However, the two teams drew 0-0 thus eliminating Kakamega and Musingu went on to win the county football title easily by beating Munyuki Secondary of Lugari Sub-county 3-1 in the final.
