Kisumu Boys High School has won a major appeal against Onjiko High for altering the lineup for the much anticipated Kenya Secondary School Soccer Association (KSSSA) championship semifinals in Kisumu County. As a result of the ruling, Kisumu Boys will now advance to face Kisumu Day in the semifinals.
The decision follows revelations that Onjiko fielded ineligible players during the ongoing school games. After careful review, authorities found Onjiko guilty of violating tournament regulations. The disciplinary ruling includes a three year ban from all related competitions.

This is not the first time Onjiko has faced eligibility scrutiny. Earlier in the tournament, Katolo School lodged a similar appeal against them. Katolo won the appeal but Onjiko was allowed to replay the game which they won 1-0 allowing them to continue in the competition. That was until this latest successful challenge by Kisumu Boys brought the matter back into the spotlight.
Tournament organizers have indicated that the exact dates and venues for the upcoming semi-final between Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Day will be communicated soon.
The outcome not only reshapes the road to the finals but also sends a strong message on integrity and fair play in school sports.
