Kisumu Boys’ High School has entered into a strategic partnership with the Kisumu National Polytechnic aimed at strengthening the delivery of technical subjects in line with the competency‑based curriculum.
The collaboration will see tutors from the polytechnic deployed to the school to support teaching in areas where specialised expertise is required.
Speaking during the school’s annual general meeting, Chief Principal Austin Muma said the initiative is designed to equip learners with practical skills that are central to the new education framework. He explained that technical subjects are a vital cog in competency‑based education, and the arrangement with the polytechnic will ensure students benefit from professional input beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Muma also announced that Kisumu Boys’ has secured a partnership with the M-pesa Foundation to establish a modern ICT resource centre. The facility is expected to enhance digital literacy and provide students with access to cutting‑edge technology, positioning the institution as a leader in integrating ICT into learning.
In addition, the school is pursuing a solarisation project in line with the government’s green energy agenda. According to Muma, the adoption of renewable energy will not only reduce operational costs but also align the institution with national efforts to promote sustainability.
The principal further revealed that Kisumu Boys has embarked on a major infrastructure upgrade to improve learning facilities and create a more conducive environment for students. He said the school is committed to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that learners are well prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
