Widows from Bomachoge Borabu Constituency in Kisii County have appealed to President Ruto to intervene and save their children who are dropping out of Universities due to lack of school fees.
Speaking to education News they claimed that they have raised their grievances to the area MP Obadiah Barongo who gave them assurances of financial support, however urged them to reorganize a big public funds drive.
However, the widows allege that the area MP disappeared with the fund raised during the November 21 at Magena grounds, leaving more vulnerable.

One of them who spoke to Education News said, she was forced to sell part of her small piece of land to raise shillings 10,000 fees arrears for her daughter in Maseno University after the funds she had hoped for went missing.
Residents accused the MP of misusing the widows and asked him to clarify the allegations from the widows before it exploded and cause bad blood to his voters.

They accused a known retired high school teacher from the area who keeps on misleading the MP by giving him wrong advice.
They said that as a former teacher, he used to inspire many students and teachers into academic and progress Excellency respectively but when he retired he plunged himself into drinking cheap local beer that ruined his way of thinking and lowered his respect in the community.
“Now as retired dejected teacher he has turned a local critic whose voice is silenced by following politicians who give him handouts to use in beer drinking and silence their critics.” Said one resident who did not want to be named in fear of attackers.
Speaking at Nyabiore SDA on Saturday the MP exonerated himself from the blame saying that funds were meant to jumpstart small projects for widows in the area but not for payment of their fees.
“We usually provide NG-CDF education Bursary fund to all, now I don’t understand what these ladies want.” He said.
