Kisii University has put measures in place towards fighting the on- going Covid-19 pandemic.

“We have instructed our students and the staff to obey the health guidelines given out by the Ministry of Health to contain the infections”, said the vice chancellor Prof.John Akama.

The Vice Chancellor’s wakeup call comes a few days after the issuance of stern warning by the Ministry of Health that labelled Nyanza one of the hotspots of the scourge.

Speaking at the university, Akama said they stuck writings all over the institutions asking anybody who visited there to observe all the COVID 19 protocols.

He directed all administrators to ensure that all students sitting for their examinations maintained social distance in their respective rooms.

He further appealed to the boda boda operators ferrying students to and from the university to be their brothers’ keepers by putting in face masks and carry sanitizers for their clients at all times.

“Bodaboda has become the popular means of transport by majority of our students who operates from outside, I appeal to the operators to adhere to the Corona virus disease protocols.” he appealed.
