Bomachoge Borabu Member of parliament (MP)Obadiah Barongo has assured parents and guardians of students in Secondary and middle level colleges that none of their children will miss NG-CDF education Bursary fund revealing that his office has put aside more than Ksh 60 million to be distributed to the beneficiaries in January.
In a speech read on his behalf by the Constituency Manager, the MP said that his office has increased the bursary application forms collection centres from the previous 15 to 25 to enable the applicants to have easy time of accessing the forms within their reach.
“We printed enough application forms, increased collection centres to take services nearer to them.” He said.
The MP said that the collection centres have been distributed equally depending on the size of each of the four wards in the constituency.
Those from Boochi Borabu Ward will collect the application forms from St.Peters Nyamesocho Secobdary School, Ichuni Primary and the Chief’s office while those from Bombaba ward will get theirs at Rianyanchabera Primary,Kemoreko and Igorera.
Applicants from Magenche ward will pick their application forms from Eberege,Sengera and Mokomoni Primary schools among the earmarked six centres in the ward but those from Bokimonge Were will go to Metembe Omobera,Riokindo and Kenyenya Primary Schools.
The MP said that the exercise will commence on December 10 to 12, urging parents and guardians to assist their children to attach the necessary documents like birth certificates, National Identification cards, School report forms and others for successful applications.

He emphasized that applicants must be voters of the constituency and must attach the voter’s photocopy to the application in order to qualify to get the funds.
The requirement for the applicants to attach voter’s photocopy to the application forms has raised many questions from parents and guardians of the applicants who stay in towns and farm estates but their children staying at home.
They cautioned the MP against using the issuance of education bursary fund as a tool for his political gains.
They asked parents and guardians of the secondary and tertiary institutions education bursary applicants to boycott the exercise until the MP’s office stopped forcing them to attach the photo copy of the voter’s card on the application forms, saying it is punitive and unlawful.
The irate parents vowed to challenge the move through the law courts, asking area Deputy County Commissioner William Kibet to intervene and rescue them from the political intimidations
