Kisii High School Principal rewards student with airplane ride

By Kevin Odera

Kisii High School Principal Fred Mogaka rewarded one of his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates by paying for an airplane ride from Kisumu to Nairobi and back for passing well in the mock exams held recently.

The principal who had promised to pay for an airplane ride for any candidate who would hit the set pass mark of an A plain, fulfilled the promise after one of his students managed to score the same with 81 points.

The student, Juma Alex Oyugi not only performed well but also surpassed competitors from five other schools within Kisii region.

The school administration stated that they did that as a motivation tool for their candidates to perform well in the forthcoming KCSE examinations, scheduled to take place from December 2 to December 23, 2022.

“Fred Mogaka in his bid to motivate his Form Four students, promised a trip on board a plane to whoever attained an A plain in the post mock exams,” Affecto Foundation founder Ndung’u Nyoro, who is also the Watoto Wasome advocate wrote in a post.

The principal has previously made headlines for his acts of kindness.

In May this year, Mogaka and his deputy, Henry Mosiomo offered a Form One student a slot in the school without paying fees since he was selected to join the school but was not in a position to pay school fees.
