A family in Ogembo has urged the Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kasses to help in quickening investigations into getting back their Grade 1 son who was kidnapped on Friday, October 4, 2024 while on his way home from school.
They decried laxity by the local police in searching for the boy, Nimrod Baraka Osiemo, as it has been more than a week since they reported the matter at Ogembo Police Station on Monday, October 6.
“We have not had a wink of sleep ever since our son disappeared. We need our son back home alive,” pleaded the mother.
According to his mother, Linet Kemunto, she became worried after her son did not report home from Ogembo Rosary Primary School in the afternoon as usual that Friday.
“We became impatient and contacted the school where head teacher Owen Nyangweso said that my child left with his friend as they headed home. I went to the friend’s home where he said that while walking home, a vehicle stopped behind them and a stranger quickly snatched the boy before speeding away with him,” she said.
The following morning, together with her husband, they reported the matter at Ogembo Police Station on Monday, October 6.
