Kisii County flags 10 students to pursue technical studies in China

Kisii County Government has flagged the first cohort of ten students fully sponsored to pursue technical education studies in China.

Speaking when he officiated the flagging, the County Governor Simba Arati said the initiative is meant to strengthen the man power skills for both the county and international job placements of the beneficiaries.

“We are trying to position ourselves strategically by training and equipping our youth with timeless quality skills for sustainability and growth for our country.” Arati said

According to one of the beneficiaries who talked to Education News on phone, the team arrived at Guamzou International Airport, in China on Wednesday and they will be distribution to various Technical Colleges for training according to their lines of specialization.

Arati said that sending the youth to China is part of the wider programme by the county government to strengthen the international relationship among the youth for both social and economic development.

He said the youth sent will train in a variety of disciplines including mechanical engineering, plumbing, building and construction, computing, and food processing technology.
